Default Flowmaster or Magnaflow?

Hey all,

Just got a quick question for you all, driving a 08' Ram 1500 Laramie, curious which exhaust to go with, any good recommendations? I would like to buy it online and have a budget of about $400.00 for everything (not including installation)

So please give me details and suggestions, I don't want it really loud, but I would like a truck that sounds smooth and makes people like the sound of the exhaust, not some annoying rumble.

Thanks!

I've got the Flowmaster 50 HD setup on my truck, love it.. There is an annoying range from about 45-55mph when the MDS kicks in, but I've since gotten quite used to it, and it doesn't bother me at all anymore.. I have some sound bites in my signature if you want to check out.

Local muffler shop installed a single in / dual out setup for me for $250 out the door...

Isn't a Super 40 a Flowmaster? Pretty sure it is so you must either have a Flowmaster Super 40 or a Magnaflow something else. Not sure how Magnaflow labels theirs but usually isn't it just by the size.

Anyway I like my Flowmaster 40 on my 2nd gen.

Like the other guy said, super 40's are flowmasters...magnaflow doesn't label their mufflers like that.

To the original poster, it sounds like magnaflow will suit you nicely...it's a straight-thru muffler so it flows just as good as a straight pipe and is decently quiet.Flowmaster is a chambered muffler....it basically has a lot of chambers in the muffler which are very restrictive but make a nice tone.
