performance air filter
Well I was just wondering why he pushed the Amsoil so hard. I live near a dealer who I met with through the Camaro website and he has supplied me and several of my friends with oil for my Camaro and Pontiac and he doesn't seem to be impressed with the Air filter. He still runs his K&N and when I asked he said that the one that Amsioloffers flows free butseems to allow more dirt in. Eitherway it ispersonal preference. And as far as making a mess with the reoiling...well don't be so messy with it. I've NEVER made a mess with mine and ifothres are making a mess then they are over oiling. You just want it to turn pinkish red not blood red.
No i'm not a Amsoil dealer...are you a K&N dealer? What maro websites do you post on? Just curious..
Cleaning any oiled filter is messy...not just the oiling phase but also the cleaning/rinsing phase. Hell, you can't even drive yourvehicle until the thing dries or you have two filters...not everyone has two filters or two vehicles. No matter what you say it's a lot messier than using a vacuum or changing out a paper filter. For the same price why go through all that BS...I don't get it.
Oiled filters are the ones notorious for letting dirt through...the oil is the only thing that allows the cotton gaze to have a filltering effect. Once the oil dries out over time it loses it's filtering ability...which wasn't great to start with.
All of this has been done and redone over the internet countless times...break out google and find stuff on oiled filters.
