Default anyone heard of this?

ok so you probably know that most all late model rams ( not sure in specific what dates, i know mine is an 07 ) are equipped with a device that will not allow full performance when the gas pedal is floored, i assume it is for keeping the truck from loosing traction under full load...i heard from some hemi guys i know that there is a wire that can be piggy backed or cut that will disable this device....is there any truth to this? if so is there a similar wire for us 4.7 owners and where is it?!?!?!?

My 08 Hemi does this. It sucks, especially when towing 7500lbs. It pulls harder if you back back out of the throttle about 1/2 way.

This is interesting, never heard about this before. Anyone know the way around it for an 07 Hemi?

Yes, I've done the DIY on it, what is preventing it is something called "Torque Management", can only be done with a programmer on your 4.7s and '04 and newer Hemi's. Most "canned tunes" modify this so it's a little better, but you'd need a true "custom tune" to get rid of it completely.
The only exception to the rule is the '03 Hemi, where it is controlled by a separate IC that can be disabled by shorting a wire. Works great, feels like more power than any tuner, but only works for that one year model...

Where could you go to, to find out how to disconnect that on a 2003?

I'm not 100% sure if I put it in the DIY or just answered it in a thread, try a search here and in DIY under "torque management" and see if you get any hits. It's been quite a while...

'08s are kinda new for custom tunes to be written. I've seen the code that's on a stock PCM, it's like a gazillion lines of code. You can check around at any shops in your area that have a dyno, as they usually either have or have a working relationship with someone that writes custom tunes. But my guess is you'll be waiting a while.
