mobil 1's best 5w20 synthetic and a mobil 1 filter. used a fram filter once in my old jeep wrangler. thing leaked and overall was a cheap pos. went to mobil 1 no problems at all. i might try wix filters or royal purple sometime but overall atm i'm very happy with mobil 1.

I use Mobil 1 and K&N filters. I change it annually, which is usually right around 6k miles.

when breaking in I used napa oil and filter. Once broke in I have used pennzoil platnium and a mopar filter, but I am going to just use yellow bottle pennzoil and either a mopar or napa filter from now on because I'm moving next week to a place where it dosent get so cold, I like to change it every3k anyway, its half price to use yellow bottle, and unlike my honda witch seems to run like "butta" on the pennzoil platnium on my dodge I really cant tell the difference. I think its because I run about half the rpms in the v8 ram as i do in the l4 honda.

Will be using a Mopar filter and Castrol GTX dino oil every 3K.
Dealer gets 8.60 for the filter and wants 6.76 a qt for Mopar oil. I don't think so!!
The filter ok, oil, no way.

So far ive only done the one change, had the dealership do it yesterday. just using mopar oil/filters for now.

still running non syn, they recommended i dont use syn, till i hit atleast 20 000km's (only at 10 000km.

Ive heard lots of good stuff about RP, is it worth it, and whats its cost per oil change.

Actually it's not too bad... Comes to around $30 w/tax (They discount it from list)

-Just switched over to Castrol (REG) oil today. Was going to go Valvoline (REG) it was on sale for $11/5qt but of course the 5w20 was out of stock.

Will keep using the Mopar filters. Buying them in bulk is affordable.

Anyone using RedLine Synthetic Products?? thought about running 5-30 or 10-30 in the Ram with K&N filter also Synthetic gear oil and tranny fluid...

I have used RP before and seems to thin out too easy, the best synthetic oil ever used was Amsoil but can't find it just any where like RP and only a couple of places have RedLine....

What about Valveoline Synthetic Products???

Normally I just run normal oil like castrol syntec 10-30 and change every 3k I want the best for my Ram and just hit the 20,000 mark on my 2006 Ram so ready for a Synthetic Oil and change it every 6k.....
