If you Ram it, then Thrush it!

Alright - got it done. I did go with the stock side exhaust location instead of in front of the rear tire. It is a two chamber so I thought it might be a little loud.
Let me tell you it sounds great! It has a nice noise at idle and low rpms. At freeway speeds, I hardly know it is there. Not bad for $40 for the muffler plus shipping. The muffler shop charged me $50 for the install and $30 for the roll-lipped tip - I thought that was fair, plus I don't have to do it! LOL
Here is the stock muffler - FREAKIN' BIG - look at the stands next to it - those are brake discs for reference.
And here is the new one in place:
Lastly, the exhaust tip - really sets it off nicely.

Resonator is still there. On a Hemi I would guess it would sound okay 'cause my neighbor has a Hemi and our stock exhaust sounded similar, but who knows? For the price I paid, it sounds damn good. And the chrome tip ain't bad either! LOL
Like I said before, at cruising speeds it is hardly noticeable but in the lower rpms, it sounds beefy. I recommend it.
I just did not understand how companies can sell 'cat-back' systems for $300-$800. It just blows me away. On the 2008 models, the stock pipe is 3", so it is plenty big. It just seemed to be a waste of cash to spend that much. I could not be happier with the way it turned out. I spend $130 total.

The Magnaflow kit is all high quality stainless. It will not rust in a few years like the aluminized stuff will. My aluminized Flowmaster on my F150 has rusted away in less than 5 years. I replaced it with a SI/DO Magnaflow.
The stock system is also stainless and should last a long time. It is killing me to leave it stock, but I have only had it a few months and hate to change it yet. I will eventially get a Magnaflow cat-back system because I like the dual pipes out the back better than behind the tire where all of the road debris is thrown.
I recently put the Magnaflow 15630 kit on my 88 Mustang and it fits great and flows much better than the Flowmasters that I removed. It is quieter too. Happier neighbors
