Thumbs up If you Ram it, then Thrush it!

Just received my new Thrush muffler - 3" in center, and 3" out offset. It is a two chamber set up. I will get it installed this weekend hopefully and will take some pics. Thanks.....

Is that rust along the seam over the inlet??

Looks like a Flowmaster almost

I too am curious about the sound. Are you going to leave the resonator on?

No rust! LOL just weird lighting....

As far as the resonator goes, I am assuming the little thing on the over the axle pipe? Yes, I am leaving that on. I am simply taking the stock "honking big" muffler off and replacing it with this one and an add-on pipe to make it fit. The stock muffler is like 31" long. This one is 19" long. The muffler shell is 13" as opposed to the stock being 27". And I'm sure it weighs way less, too. This new one is lightweight.

I heard the Thrush mufflers sound deep at low revs but quiet down at the higher revs for freeway cruising. I used to have a Vette with straight pipe, and I would not want that for every day! LOL

No rust, that's good

Yeah, the one that I took off of my 01 F150 that I had was as big as the gas tank and wasn't too light. It's about the same size as the one on the Ram.

Talked to my local muffler shop - they will put it on for $50.

Now, one question - I was thinking about having the exhaust exiting in front of the rear tire. I could keep the stock pipe that is already there but I might like a nice chrome tip coming out in front of the rear tire....

What do you guys think??? I have not decided yet, and I am going tomorrow morning. Thanks.

up to you on the side exit.
I thought about that to, but i wondered if it would make a droning sound in the cab, so I just let it exit in the normal spot.
Its funny watching people look at my Ram when they hear it, and they dont see and dual exhaust, or even an exhaust tip.

Its like having a sleeper exhaust system.

Yeah I thought about that - it's a two chamber muffler so I wonder how that will affect the cabin noise.....hmmmmm......still thinking.
