K&N is good,. It flows very well but it still doesn't filter out as much as Purolators PureOne or the Mobil 1. It's still superior to Fram or Wix. I think they are kinda pricey, but when you compare that to how much you pay for just the oil, I guess it's not that big of a deal.

I don't think they filter out as little as 10 microns or they would try to stress that on their website. They are just compatible with synthetic oils and have an average particle filtration when compared to others. I love the nut on the end. Ingenious.

That's probably what makes them expensive.

Default Oil Filters

Thanks for the info. I think that I will put in the K&N this time and shop out of town for another for next time.

I'm just going to use the Mopar filter. If it fails to protect, Chrysler will replace the engine with my lifetime powertrain warranty.

the two fram filters i ever bought were junk. each of them had something loose, and when the truck would idle, the loose item would rattle around. I realize that something in them probably broke in the shipping process, it just seemed ironic that both of them were frams. I have never had any problems with any other brand.

Bosch and Purolator are about my favorite filters. They seem to always have the biggest, smoothest holes, and don't look cheap like the STP filters. Purolater invented the oil filter and is cheaper than the Bosch, so that is usually the one I get

how did you isolate the rattle to your oil filter??? i believe you just find it rather odd.
Anyways i also use mobil-1 synthetic and pure one purolator filters. whenever the local parts store is out of purones in my size ill grab a mobil-1 filter i just hate spending double on the filter.....
i must say i love doing an oil change on my ram, they made it soo easy. Filter right out in front and a nice drip pan so it doesnt make amess when you get the filter off. I love dodge for that......

I am also going to stick with dino oil since I will be changing it per the manual and not every 15K to keep the warranty from being void.
