I removed the HBS front leveling kit this morning. Results: i get a shimmy in 2wd at around 55/60 mph and I still have the shudder in 4x4 while accelerating and while cruising. Calling the dealer again tomorrow. this will be the 3rd time back in.
I f'n hate this truck!!!!!!!!!
I f'n hate this truck!!!!!!!!!
I hear ya man! I just traded my 05 2500 diesel about 5 weeks ago for this truck as I wasn't using the diesel for towing much anymore.......I've been regretting it ever since. I have the same shimmy you describe and I haven't even touched the front suspension. I am currently trying to work a deal on a either a 1500 mega cab or a 2500 QC so I can get out of this truck before I put too many miles on it. I wish I would have read these forums before I bought it!!!

i have a 2" leveling on kit on my 1500 megacab and no shimmy problems it is an 07'. went with westin nerf bars. no flex like other brands. went with the black ones and they look awsome. only problem is everyone thinks i have my brights on. hahaha. sucks if they are in a small car up front.

The 1500 megacab sits on a 2500 chassis thus a SFA and no shimmy......Lucky you!

Although don't get me wrong, I'd swap my IFS front end for a good old SFA any day of the week if I had the funds and wouldn't take a bath on the better than $8k I've put into my '04 1500...

start keeping a log bro. call chrysler and voice your complaint, get assigned a ref#... at least this way you start the ball rolling.
Mine goes in tomorrow for the 3rd time on the 4x4 shudder. If the dealer cannot fix it this time I am going to take it to another dealer and give them a crack at it. I will continue to log all activities. If the second dealer cannot fix the problem (which will then be the 4th time in) I will be calling my lawyer to contact Chrysler.
I'll personally drive this F'n POS to Detriot to pick up the CEO of Chrysler so he can drive this crappy-azz truck to washington.

Don't bet on it, do a search for "death wobble" on here or even Google it. It's been a plight of the Dodge SFA trucks since the 2nd Gen days...

Very True, But I know how to fix the death wobble so I would take that over this shimmy. No one seems to know what causing this, it certainly is the strangest vibration I ever had in a vehicle. Fortunately I haven't made a payment on the new truck yet so I am technically not out any money. The Mega Cab I am looking at only has 24,000 miles and the dealer is willing to trade straight across and keep my loan amount the same.....works for me!
