Really depends on his insurance company. But there is an outside chance he could come out ahead. With injuries it would be easy to come out ahead.

That's totaled. Just looking at the front picture, that has to be totaled.
I knew someone who's son had a fairly new Ford F-150. Going at highway speeds, he ran into a hog. The front axle launched him into the air. He said that there wasn't really any frame damage, but it tore the center of the bumper, as it had a little valance area like our Dodges, only bigger. Then a few months before, it got some hail damage on the hood, and he had it totaled. That thing you could still drive, and didn't look bad from the back side. So you have a great chance of having yours totaled.

I hope they total it for your sake. Then you can get a new one. Nice and shiny. Get the charcoal grey ones, they are the best.

That should definitely be totaled. Glad to hear everyone is ok, and good luck getting a new truck to replace it.

Default Sorry

About four months ago I got into an crash with my 08 Ram 3.7L regular cab. My truck was totaled (and yours looks like it too) and even though I got a great deal on it when I got it I still ended up receiving about two and a half thousand less than the MSRP (that was on the window sticker and more an what I paid). The insurance company's value is just like a blue book value and being an 08 and so new the value is still up there. Also the other insurance company was very nice and gave us the amount in tax that I paid, document fee (and the other little fees that come when buying a truck), and the value of my extended warranty will be refunded too. My new truck that I got about 2 months ago is bigger and badder, now a 08 Ram QC with the Hemi and the Big Horn package. Wmichell227 I feel your pain but who knows you might make out pretty good.

Man, talk about merry freaking christmas. Good to hear you're ok, and the girl is gonna make it. As far as the truck, no way it's not totalled. Thats some serious damage there. Care to elaborate on the scenario, speeds and whatnot? If not, I understand. It's still hard for me to 'relive' when I totalled my 'stang....

Youre right, it is still hard to believe and I keep seeing the crash when I close my eyes. I was northbound on a state highway coming up a hill in a 55 zone. The other veh was southbound. I saw her drift off the right shoulder in to the snow / slush, then it looked like she over corrected and got sideways and crossed in to my lane. The roads were wet but not snow covered. I'm still not sure if I had time to brake. At any rate I hit her somewhere between 45 & 55 MPH, in the rear passenger side door. The airbags worked flawlessly (in my truck)!

She was unconscious at the scene and I was up walking around. I must have been in shock. Both of my knees and lower legs are bruised. I have an injured hamstring and my back and shoulders are really sore.

Thanks for all the kind words guys! I should find out if they're going to fix it, in a few days. Fortunately the auto body guy is an old friend, if he is going to fix it, I trust him not to do a 1/2 azzed job.
