owners manual!

Posi fluid is only needed if you have limited slip. If you have an open carrier (one wheel peel) no additive is needed.

Does dodge still want us guys with the open rear to do the 15k intervals? Seems like a waste to me..

It's 30kmi intervals unless you do heavy hauling.
YES. The bearings and ring&pinion still need fresh lube. That's the whole reason behind the intervals.
Changing fluids in a differential regardless of open or limited slip is the same in any case. If you do more hauling, than you need to change the fluid sooner.

I remember seeing something about 15k for the rear and thinking how ridiculous it was...i'm going to have to double check that before I reach 15k. I hope it's 30k that's what i've always done them at...15 is just a little excessive.

For the first change i would def do it at 15kmi or sooner regardless. I have 2800 miles as of right now and probably will have about 5kmi by springtime and my diff fluids will get flushed out for some new juice. The first change is the most important as the bearings run their initial wear and as do the ring & pinion. I have Synthetic fluids in my diffs and I believe you do as well. I think the 15kmi is just a level check and not a fluid change like the 30kmi, however, I would really reccomend doing atleast the rear diff in any 4x4 application at 15kmi and then both again at 30kmi.
My first oil change was just before 1kmi. I went fully synthetic. My next oil change will be at 5kmi and then every 5kmi there after.
