That is a good question. Do you think they would release it if it wasn't safe for a stock engine? I wouldn't think they would but I am not certain.

You'll start seeing valve float at about 6700 in these engines. They chose a safe setting.

The competitor's product can be set as high as 7000. In my opinion, not safe.

man you got some cajones, i'm not goin a tick above 6300 if/when i get it.

springs fatigue and set after a while, and with 75000 miles worth of cycles on mine, i'd bet they don't return quite as fast as new, even if it's just a small difference. they allow 6500 and they don't float till 6700...little too close for me.

of course even if they arent returning all you might do is help the valve get back up faster

Aw man, now you making me nervous. Maybe I will try working my way up to the new max and see what happens. Hopefully nothing bad will happen.

haha. just depends on how much faith you have in the company right. No offense, but I don't care who you are, it's my engine and i'm not taking anyone's word on what they tested or not.

i know SC has a good name and all, and they want to protect their reputation, but I think they have in their warranties and stuff that they are only responsible for a faulty unit and not the damages it causes on the engine. so if you put a couple holes in your pistons, you get $350 back

I'm with you man...i'm not setting mine over 6000 rpms I don't care who says what is safe. These are pushrod engines...not only can you float valves but you can bend a rod. It's not worth it to me..

OK, I bumped the rev limit up 150 to 6350 and set 1-2 shift at 6150 and 2-3 at 6100. I figured this was a safe place to start since I have been running the 6200 rev limit for months now without a problem. Didn't get to try it out yet, I am taking it out for a ride later on to go to a buddy's house. I will let you know if anything seems better/different after the trip.
