power of an '09

there are crew, quad, and regular cab 2009's. they have 390hp with mds and variable valve technology.
i bought a trx4 crew. for as big as it is, it really moves. it came with a 3.92 gear, which really helps with acceleration.
once i get a few more miles on it i will stomp the pedal and see if i can break them loose on dry pavement.
as far as pricing goes, last week you could have gotten a 41,000 truck for 30,000 or less out the door.

The answer to your question has many variables. First off, try stomping the pedal to the floor. Does it squeal 'em? What ratio is your rear axle? If that 09 had 3.92s, that would play big into why he could really torque the rears. I put my 08 QC with 3.92s up against my friends 09 with 3.55s and I wiped him out.

the new 09' is not much quicker than the 02-08's. its quarte mile time (4x4 Quad, SB) was only 4/10's faster. It handles much better though through the slalom with that QUEER Independent rear suspension, and has LESS payload, and guess what? can also tow LESS. Go read the specs on it.
I bought my truck about a month and 1/half ago. I test drove the new ram and really thought I wanted to buy it. As the reason for going to the dealership was I liked the new look. On the lot I saw an 06' SLT pretty much loaded beautiful two tone, 5.7 4x4. and only 13K miles. I drove that....and that was the one I bought hands down. Especially after finding out the specs on the new one...and for that price?? no.

It's not independent rear suspension. It's solid axle with coils instead of leafs. Also max payload 1850 max towing 9100. Not terrible for a light duty half-ton IMO.
