Default Tool box behind the bumper?

'08 2500 4x4 QC.

I've been looking for a place to store "extra stuff" because I'm starting to accumulate too much stuff under the seat and small tool-bag/emergency repair kit won't fit with everything else.

It looks like there is quite a bit of room behind the front bumper. I'm thinking about fabbing some kind of tool box that will hang over the frame and sit in that area.

Any reason not to (airbag sensors?). The box would be below the height of radiator/AC condenser etc.

I don't see it being a problem, I mean they make a "hidden" winch mount for right there, so what would be the difference if you had a winch or a tool box sitting in that space???

How about just a regular bed tool box? They make the ones that sit down low so they are not really visible from the side. Of course, you lose a little bed space, but if don't use the bed that often, it may not be a big deal.

I have a topper, and that would also take away from space for the dogs in the back. Plus, I don't have *that* much extra stuff.
