Default Ram Vs. Charger

Ok so as you may have guessed I have a 1974 dodge charger. It's in decent shape does need a quarter panel and interior work. The question i have, Is will i really regret selling my charger or possibly just the engine i had built. And letting the charger take second place for the next few years so I can focus on my truck, With the lift, tire, gears and such. Im sure a few of you guys have parted ways with some nice old cars and do you really regret it. I'm leaning towards selling the car just because of the new challenger, I know that 5 years down the road they will be decently cheap. I know its not the same as an old school muscle car but i still love them. And the fact is that with the huge increase in the muscle car market it has become unbelievably exspensive to get work done. Shops are quoting me 8,000 - 15,000$ to do the body and paint. Then probably another 5 grand to finish engine and interior. When With just 5,000$ i could make my truck exactly how I want it.
I know this is a very " its up to you " question but just looking for some opinions. Thanks guy's.

oohh you're really going to miss it. But, I would sell. Hold on to it for another year so you can really get what it's worth, then sell.

you have any photos of the car? i know i wish i had a old mopar to tinker around with on the weekend and to drive around in on sunny days. i think if the car isnt too wrecked i would keep it. i hear ya on the challenger, i think buying one of those is one of my future goals.

i personally like the 69 chargers the best. but yeah, that does look like a lot of money to fix it up but once youre done, you will be glad you did it. youd be way more unique with a charger than a modded ram. i think old school is better because i see so many modded rams but not much from back in the old times

I regret selling my 76' pickup every single day, I really wish I had the room at the time to keep it and the ram instead of getting rid of it. I say keep it, and work on it between mods for the truck. I really really wish I would have done that... you could also learn how to do the body work and cut some of the expences down.

I'm in the same boot as you, I have a 67' Barracuda Formula S and I've been debaiting on selling also. The fact that crosses my mind is that it could be my retirement in 32 years or so. So I would really think about it, the older classic-colectables are always going to be worth more than your truck, so keep that in mind also!!

Ya i'll post some pics of the car here right away. I totally agree with you raminator that I would be much more unique but thats the problem. All my friends 4x4 all the time. I'd be all on my own when it came to weekends if i wanted to do car shows or just go out for a cruise. If i did sell it though walking into that empty garage for the first while would probably break my heart lol.

man i would keep that car and learn to do some body work it would pay off i would love to have that car and after the ram fix it up and that would be amazing my dad got rid of a 69 camarro about 3 years ago and when ever he sees one driving around all shined up he says it was the stupidest thing to do by getting rid of that car and i wish he would have kept it because it was sweet
One thing about the car is get rid of that front grill its pretty ugly on this year i would have to say 71 was my favorite year for the charger who knows maybe one of these days you could put a new hemi in it
