thanks for the info they still should be good, havent really used the bed much and its a new truck but i will keep that in mind for later. I have also been thinking about installing I think they are shocks so the tailgate slowly lets down. I will have to check and make sure they will be able to handle the weight.

Already done exactly that. The bike will fit fine just slightly diagonally, I wedged the front tire into the left front corner of the box and used three tie down straps and got it so it was damn near part of the bed, I ran over a couple curbs and the bike didn't shift at all for over 3 weeks while I was selling it. The tailgate will hold just fine but if it worries you it's only a 15 second fix.
Another trick to loading motorcycles in trucks is to find a small hill to back up to, I found one and only had to lift the bike about 5 inches, I didn't have a loading ramp but it was pretty easy.
