If you were getting 5mpg better with the hydrogen gen, why remove it???????

My 08 gets 16 to 18 avg as well. Has gotten 22 on flat hwy @65mph.

Something is not right if you drive easy and only get 9mpg.

There is a guy over in the 2nd gen that tried one. i dont know his exact story, but something along the line of it melted...

Your driving habits play a major role in your MPG's. You may not realize it, but when you drive while pissed off, you probably tend to push the truck a little more than normal.

Since your in Kansas, depending on how close you are to MO or not, we should be switching back to the summer blends pretty quick, but my mileage in mine went up by about 4-5 MPG's this winter.
I tried Shell's gas. I have been running the 89 Nitrogen added gas. Some may think its a sale ploy, but when thats all that I changed and I gain 4-5 mpg's it seems pretty obvious that it works (at least on the magnum motors)
Some other things you might check:
Tire pressure
Tranny fluid level

You might try coasting too, and not letting your truck turn over 2000RPM on take off...

They just started advertising the nitrogenated fuels here too. I haven't tried it yet. Anything has to be better than ethanol!!
I can still get pure gasoline with no ethanol, so that's what I run.

I don't know that one is better than the other. Independent lab reviews often give both products high marks.

However, here is something that you should know. NEITHER product will effectively clean sludge well, if at all, in your engine if used with a full synthetic motor oil. If you dump it in there with a full synthetic, you are wasting your money!!!
I only use it in the intake. I use synthetic oil and won't put it in the crankcase.

To the others, I just wanted to know if I missed something about Seafoam. Thanks for the info and I will continue to use it. Well, once I get some real miles on my truck.

To the OP, I am sure you know this, but tire pressure, alignment, brakes dragging, extra weight, etc, can all make the truck get worse mileage.

I'm not that close to MO, closer to CO actually, but we've been really warm, so hopefully summer blends come back sometime soon.
Here we don't have any Nitrogen gas, so I can only run E10 89 in my truck.
As far as the mad driving, since my tuneup and resetting the overhead, I haven't driven mad, and my mpgs are down. This tank I'll get more mpgs than what my overhead says, but that's only because I drove about 40 miles on the highway and interstate so that I wouldn't start out getting 6 mpg. I also don't take off to fast.

Yea I dunno man....your mpg are a mystery. I'd put her on stands and spin the wheels checking for any excess drag from wheel/axle bearings and the brake calipers...couldn't hurt. Is your truck a 4x4?

Yeah, both products are primarily based on esters, which are polar and have an attraction to metal. Full Synthetics are POA lubricants and as such will not allow the ester based molecules to reach the metal surfaces...

its definatly the city driving, all that stopping and going takes alot of fuel. and also never going over 2500rpm wont neccesarily be better for the engine, its good to stomp it once and a while to blow it out as others have suggested.
