Titan beats my hemi
its a good thread though, some of these guys think they can beat any gasser truck because they have a "345 hp" hemi. lol
but in reality, our trucks put about the same amount of power to wheels as some of these other trucks, BUT ours are heavier!
I test drove a titan before i bought my ram and they are a really nice truck, the engine and tranny are matched PERFECTLY, it was never confused and i never had to stomp on it to get it to shift into a lower gear... but the guy selling it was a scab so i didnt buy it.
My brother has been itching for a race with his 5.3 gmc regular cab long box... I know his truck is a lot lighter, and i'm scared... i will be pretty embarrased if i lose. i would love a new tq converter and gears but i need to stop spending money on my truck. lol

the hell you say. is that even allowed on here?
I think it's time for someone who wants to reduce their drivetrain losses to swap in a G238 6 speed from a 3.7/4.7 Ram or Dakota! The Jeep "Lower 40" concept (at SEMA this year, but has been around for a while) has a AEV conversion including a Hemi and G238, according to the press release.
The ratio spacing is excellent, IMO, and would make a quick truck. I'm sure my drivetrain losses are very low, and my 210 HP V6 puts as much horsepower to the ground as a pre-08 4.7 with an automatic. It's a stout transmission. Getrag doesn't call it the "238" on it's website. They list a "6MTI520", which looks like the 238, and most importantly, has the same ratio spread and same synchro cone configuration. It's rated to 383 Lb-Ft input - I'm sure it would hold up just fine behind a stock or even mildly tuned Hemi.

Get a new Torque Converter, Gears and an E-Fan. That will free up some power and get you moving quicker. The converter frees up between 6-8% of the loss, the E-fan frees up some (not sure on percentage there) and the gears get you flying. It be a lot cheaper than attempting a trans swap and tuning for it.
