grrrr so the place i ordered the cam from, online siad they had 6 in stock and now they say they dont have any and are back ordered from comp cams and could be 6 to 8 weeks, so im gonna check out the krc ones

alright guys, so a little update, finally get everything ordered, and confirmed on its way, here is the list now:

- 6.1L Hemi Exhaust springs
- 6.1L Hemi 1 piece pushrods
- Comp Cams titanium Retainers
- KRC 218 Camshaft
- KRC sct custom tuner

now... just gotta wait for it all to get here, cam might take awhile so might have to install it myself down the road, i hope not though

anyone know whats needed to make a stroker?? just the crank?

If you go longer on the crank you have to go shorter on the rods.

They pulled the engine out, pulled the heads off, and cylinder #8 was empty.... rod, piston gone. The guy said that he has never seen a cylinder empty before, figures the rod snapped and the piston fell into the crank and exploded. So long story short this is what is now needed:

- cylinder bored and sleaved
- new connecting rod
- new piston
- new crankshaft
- new crank bearings,
- crank journals machined

this is ending up being more then i expected!
Maybe #8 was never there.

no i guess he said that the bearing wore out and then the connecting rod was rubbing on the crankshaft and the rod ceased to the crank, causing the rod to snap off, pretty big mess, im surprised it didnt bust a hole in the block.

Yep, you are lucky it didnt trash the block. You ought to have a sweet engine when its all done tho!

ya looked into making it a stroker, but i dont think i can afford that, 1200 bucks or so for the crank, then all new rods ontop of that. Oh well, it will be cammed up and stiffer valve train, should be good enough for me! Should wake up the bastard with the headers to.

Yah your super lucky.. my buddy just hydrolocked his 08 ram with only 1500KMs on it last weekend and blew a chunk outa the passenger side of the block the size of a baseball!!

wow, ya i am lucky then!! thank the hemi gods i dont need a new block haha. I bet his is under warranty though!
