its so hard to guess the costs of these kinds of jobs. Your best bet is to find a performance shop in the area willing to do it and have them give you a quote. shop around. When you get the quote, post your results. For the cam (and rods/retainers/lifters/valves) plus custom tune and install you're probably lookin in the $1500-$2000 range. Its certainly not cheap.

Dont know what kind of mods you already have, but a cam swap isnt gonna be near as effective without already having a CAI, headers, free flowing exhaust, etc. Good luck.

Best price I got for install is $550. I don't think that I am going to find anything lower than that and I have looked for a while.

$550 is VERY MUCH on the low side. 'Teach, if the guy is decent, you found your man!

To the OP:
Figure closer to $800 for the install. About $400 for the Cam itself. You can go the 6.1 springs/retainers/rods route and prolly be around $100 or do the Manley or Comp springs/titanium retainers/rods route and be closer to $350.
Tuner that can hold a custom tune would be about $500 more and the custom tune itself maybe a couple hundred.
So, I'm thinking a fair estimate would be about $2000-2500 depending on options and labor costs...

Believe me, I know it is a good price. He has good word of mouth from the people who have gone to him, so he is 100% the guy I am going to.

It's a local guy down in Delaware. He has a really good rep, nothing but positive reviews.

Teach's guy is top notch. He did my cam and he is one of the only people I would let work on my truck.
