I didn't realize you were an 03. You definately picked the right fan then.

Mine is on the over fill tank and that bolted to the stock shroud so I had to keep my stock shroud and went with the 3.8 Ford fan to fit inside it. The wiring diagram will work the same its just that you need to upgrade your relays to:

Thats not good then if I am going lose my overflow tank and windshield wiper res. Unless I can cut the top of the stock shroud so I can keep them. What do you guys think? Frog did you lose your overflow tank?

If i'm correct, the radiator cap changed on the 06-08. Frogs truck is an 07. I think the Lincoln fans will only work 06-08

I would go with the 3.8 fan and install it inside of the stock shroud. Saves you a lot of time/money of having to fab up some aftermarket bottles to fit the applicaiton. The 3.8 pulls plenty of air for everyday driving. If you are going to tow I am not sure if it would or not but it was 95 degrees here today and my temp never moved past where I have the fan set at.

The lincoln fans work on 04+. It's easy to tell, just go open your hood. If the cap is on the radiator, you're good to go. If it's on the overflow, than you have to use the shroud.

You don't have to spend a fortune to go shroudless. You just need to be clever and use ingenuity. Check out these bottles I used, I got them at advanced for dirt cheap.

And you can keep your windshield washer pump just by drilling a hole.

You having any cooling issues 'frog? I read a post on another forum a while back and the guy went shroudless. Looked fantastic with his custom reservoirs, but he had cooling issues he surmised was because the lack of shroud was not allowing the airflow to be directed over the fins enough.
I can't ever remember him posting whether it was that or not for sure...

RFog you are a mad man. If you havent had any cooling issues I think this is the way I am gonna go, I like the fact that the fan covers the entire rad instead of a portion of it. I am just gonna have to find some where to mount the bottles, the location you used is where my CAI is. Time to do some studying.

For the setup I posted above, I used aluminum angle to make a bracket/frame that completely covered the radiator and forced all the air to come through the fan. I towed my boat numerous times in the summer and never had an issue. For the viper fan I used the how-to written by 03ramit and built the frame around the periphery of the radiator so all the air is pulled through. We'll see how she does this summer. No issues so far!
