Default what to expect from 300$ exhaust?

a local shop said they can redo my muff back for 299. it would include 3"in/ 2.5" dual out flowmaster 40series with piping and 2 3x13" polished tips. Sound too cheap for good work?? ... This shop does have an excellent reputation in the area. they said they would coat the muff with hightemp paint to extend the live (prevent early onset of rust). i am hoping to get the xdi intake for 275 at the same time.

I had a 50 series HD with pipes put on my truck for $250 out the door. I've had no problems with it, and I'm coming up on 2 years with it on the truck....

$300 sounds about right. you will likely get line bent pipes, but that's not necessarily a bad thing at 2.5", plenty of flow.

agreed, go with a magnaflow. stainless steel, will last forever.

...thanks, ha i am beginning to think no one on here has to worry about not having a job, any of the above posters could easily get a job as a spokesman for magnaflow. I am positive with the numerous exhaust threads, that was at least a tenth time for of all you to say GO Magnaflow! haha j/k... have had a magnaflow system on another car before, was not dissapointed. The si/do magnaflow system was 50$ more, not that that hurts. I could have a Aero 3030xl single exhaust with new pipes and tip for same price as flowmaster si/do setup. I thought that sound is nice along with the Aero perf and maintain a somewhat factory appearance would be a plus too, idk. Opinions on that option? I am in the national capitol region btw, so cost of liv... everything is a bit higher.

Check out the link above. Pretty sure I got a Magnaflow #12198. Don't regret it for a second.
