Do you have a 2WD or 4WD? My truck is an 06 4x4, and unless they came from the factory with rust colored paint, both my front and rear driveshafts are steel. But I think I read in a thread on here a few years back (before I actually signed up) that the 2WD trucks have an aluminum driveshaft and the 4WD trucks have steel driveshafts.

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...read-this.html

In this thread, he talks about his aluminum driveshaft failing with 4.56 gears.......

https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...riveshaft.html

This thread talks about wanting to install a steel driveshaft instead of aluminum.....

Sorry for the hijack

So just an update for those who are interested, I found a good, no bs, trans shop to take care of my converter last week, sent it out last friday and it should be back today assuming nothing is wrong with it (fingers crossed) but the cost of the cleaning is going to run around $50 vs the month wait and close to $160 price to send it back to the manufacturer. Just order an SRT-10 Pillar pod and am now looking for a decent trans temp gauge. Also ordered a new 2500 trans cooler tuesday which should be in on the 14th. So soon guys, very very soon, I will have this thing up and running!!!
