Don't forget to buy adjusters or you will certainly not get the alignment right.

The alignment part is no big deal for me as for there are many smaller businesses around here in dallas that i shouldn't have much trouble with a reasonable price as long as I do not put some monster wheels on my truck
True, but a full bag system is around 6500. A c-notch and a 4/6 drop kit is far, far cheaper. It's all about what u can afford n how ur gonna need to use ur truck. If you still use ur truck as a truck, then u would want urs setup differently then I do. I don't use my bed for anything. I think the ONLY reason I even own a truck is because down here in Texas, ya'lls don't really have sports cars. Well, at least, sports cars aren't the vehicle to own. Seems like chicks prefer trucks over sports cars. Back home, in Maryland, trucks aren't chick magnets, sports cars are. Lol.

Guys, I would like to throw my two cents in here. I too don't use my truck for much more than towing my bike trailer and that is not often. But we have invest a lot of money in our rides and at no point do we what to lower there value or make them un safe to operate. Cutting the frame is one of those things we need to right or not at all. So find a shop that knows what it is doing or be prepared to engineer the mod yourself if you are capable. My opinion is that it is a bed off operation which is not a big deal. There are many in the forum who have body lifts that have unbolted and lifted their beds not counting all those who have actually done "C" notches. Maybe the guys who have already cut their frames would give us some pictures and lessons learned from doing their mod. IMO, I feel this is an important mod that needs to be done to make the rear suspension to function correctly.

I have always felt that if you can get around having to do a c-notch, then don't do it. I have a 6 inch drop in the back on my truck. I have been told by a ton of people that anything lower than a 4 inch drop in the rear will require the notch. I have NOT had to do this. My front end drop, which was supposed to be a 4 inch drop, settled to a total drop of 5 inches. So this being said, I think that's why I haven't had to do the notch. I have zero "bottoming out" issues. So, like I said, if you need it do it. It's not difficult. The kits come with templates n all the necessary hardware. But, if you don't need it, don't do it. It's not mandatory.

RawRam,
I don't know how you are getting away with a 6" drop in the rear and not needing a notched frame. This picture is of my truck with a 1" bumper and a 4" drop. There is basically a little more than 2" of travel left. Do the math... Can you post a picture? Thanks

Not at the moment. I'm posting to this site off if my "hero" phone. If u go to WWW.Photobucket.com/rawram2006 u should b able to see pics of my drop. It's due to the front being lower then it should've been. If I didn't have a forward rake to my stance I probably would need a notch. Before I got the front lowered I always bottomed out, but that was due to having s reversed rake to my stance. I owned a Z28, that had w 2 inch drop. So, I'm used to driving carefully. Lol. I'm not gonna lie; my truck gets babied. Lol.
