Default Apparently you cant paint your transaxle.... VOID WARENTEE

soo my truck went into the shop because i hooked up a superchip to it and i blew both the rear end and the transmission.. the dealer told me that since i painted the rear end(axle) that it will no longer be under their coverage... the only reason i painted it was cause it was rusting and looked like ****... any thoughts.. extremely upset ..

What a crock. Only thing i can see is if you painted over the labels making them unreadable, but they still could be cleaned.

You altered original equipment, I'm not saying it's right, but most likely they can get out of having to cover it under warranty.

Call the district service manager and Chrysler and see if that gets you anywhere.

Did you tell them you had a programmer? As far as what you could do ask them to show you in writing where if you paint the axle it voids your warranty.

Ok, I'm not trying to be a d!k, just telling you what is probably going to happen, or what they will say.

If it was rusting, you should have taken it in and tried to get it replaced under warranty.

This is considered "Altering/defacing original equipment" and it will not be hard to produce that in writing.

Unlikely but it is worth a shot. With today's economy, everyone is trying to save a buck, and if they can get out of warranty work, you better believe they are going to.
