Well I was going to do the alignment this Saturday. I will see if that does anything for me...And about buying new shocks I don't think its gonna happen, I'm strapped for cash at the moment & I had just bought the Bilstein ones.

Plus I think I rather save some cash and go with somthing like this in a couple of months...

3" spindle, 2.5 spacer on 315/70/17

did you ever figure out if that was the problem? (needing the 15.5" shocks?)

Actually I didn't have time to get the alignment done this weekend but since I felt that the truck sat lower with the stock shocks back on, I switched them back to the 2" longer ones to keep it higher. After that I really didn't notice it hitting at all unless I hit a huge bump or dip but I'm still thinking of getting the limit straps so I wont have to worry about it...should work.

Either way I'm real happy with my leveled RAM. Just need some 33's & new wheels, running stock wheels & tires now 245/70/R17.

Compared to a stock height RAM...

whats this 3" spindle and 2.5" spacer all about? that looks pretty sweet.

does the daystar come with the extended bump stops? if so, could that be the problem?

did you get the shocks for the front or the back?

I did the same thing on mine, and turns out getting longer struts on the front CAUSES the bump. our setup is alot different.

I just leveled my 2005 2wd this weekend (pics and a new thread on it soon). I left the stock shocks on it and you definitely feel every bump in the road. I assume that with the longer shocks, even though it hits on bigger bumps, the ride is at least quite a bit smoother right? Right now it rides like crap. Reminds of the ride I got when I lowered my 1990 Isuzu back in the day.

Yeah way smoother with the longer shocks...with the stock shocks its stiff and bouncy as hell, IMO. lol.

Jram, check your PMs

And for those of us with struts, not shocks, it is advised to NOT get new struts. I did the same thing as you and got the bilstien 2+" (2500) struts. I never got a chance to ride in it with the shorter struts, so I have no experience with it, thats all just stuff a suspension specialist told me.

so will the 2500 shocks fit a 2004 1500 with torsion bar suspension? i am looking for a solution to fit the "knocking/thud" of the shock over extending when i hit a pot hole or when im offroading.

mine i need the eyelet at the bottem of the shock and the threaded rod on top. is that the same set up you have?
thanks!!
