xill your truck is looking awesome. you going to be adding some fender flares, looks like those tires stick out quit a bit. and i know what you guys mean by not being able to sleep waiting for your truck to be completed. my truck was gone for three days at the shop getting the lift done.

The only thing I would b concerned with is your transmission holding up. I would think that would go before your engine.

A friend of mine put 24's on his 4.7L Dodge Ram QCSB, and his transmission blew in a couple months. Now, before everybody starts opening up on me, I don't know his driving habits. He may have driven the dog sh*t out of that truck, and thats why the trans went. Either way, it definitely scared me away from going with 24's on my truck. Think I'm sticking with either 20's or the SRT-10 22's.

that's why its going from the suspension shop to the tranny shop. i have 4.88s and new bearings waiting for me in the garage. those gears will be doing all of the grunt work so my transmission will have a lighter load than it did from the factory. most of these people (a couple of my friends included) stick 24s and 26s and 28s on their cars and trucks and never even think about swapping the gears. that was your friend's problem no doubt

honestly im still undecided about the flares. i know from the protection side of it they'll be nice, but i've seen lifted rams with and without and i like the way they both look so im on the fence about'em

Hmm, well then if I do decide to go with 24's I will definitely go with say 4.54's. That should help eh?

if you're running low-profile tires then yea 4.56s would do alot and you'd have a better running system than you do now if you're sitting at stock gears like 3.55s. if you want 24s on larger tires like 37x13.5s or 38x14s (your only choices for beefier rubber with 24s) then take advantage of the fact that you can run 4.88 gears. the 4x4 boys can't go any higher than 4.56s 4x4s also have problems with tires over 35" tall due to their CV axles. 2wd does have it's advantages (and disadvantages)... im by no means an expert though, this is just info i've picked up from the guys here and from nick over at airram.com (he's a guru when it comes to our 3rd gen 4.7s)
