Tru-Duals is it really worth it?
I have been thinking of putting true duals on my truck and have not found many companies that make a true dual. I have been looking at the exhaust depot true duals as they are the cheapest I can find http://www.exhaustdepot.net/ramtrdutumab.html. Im just curious if its worth the extra money over a cat back system.

That's not that much more than a good cat-back. Dual exhaust with an x or h pipe to assist in cylinder scavenging is the best set up. That said there are some really good gains with a well made single exhaust setup. It just depends on what you really want.
you can get it done cheaper if you buy the parts yourself. I bought an "X" pipe, magnaflow mufflers for under 180.00 and had shop put in 2.25 pipe and weld everything up for about 100.

if you really want true duals you might have better luck calling your local muffler shops. most of these shops can custom bend piping however you want it, and it'll end up costing less than ordering something online and having to pay shipping on top of it. unless you're just hell-bent on doing it yourself, most muffler shops can also get you better than retail pricing on mufflers, cut-outs, headers, turn-downs, etc. and can have it installed much quicker than a driveway job.
You can get some decent gains out of a true dual setup just dont go to big on the pipe diameter. Keep it right around the 2.25" - 2.5" diameter and you'll be good, go any larger and you'll end up hurting your performance more than helping it.
Mine is single 3" exit, but mine is also very free flowing, Longtube headers, opened up the cats for a full 3" setup from the headers to the muffler, new y pipe and the muffler its self is a very free flowing muffler. I dont think there would be a whole lot of a difference in power gain from the setup I have compared to a true dual.

If the question is will you get some gains out of that system, the answer is yes. It removes the factory crushed y-pipe so it will help free up a little power. But the reality is that you can get something just like what is pictured for a cheaper price if you buy the x-pipe like the one in the pic, some mufflers and get a shop to do the piping.
I don't think you can buy a real true dual kit. You will probably have to go custom... Long answer is it's up to what you are looking for... If its performance and sound gains then you cannot go wrong with a custom true dual set-up. You can fine tune a system custom to you desires. The routing, sound levels, headers, cut outs, X or H, and so forth... The sky is unlimited to your imagination... (And wallet, LOL.) Decide and go for it!! Best of luck!!
i had true duals on my 05...had the local exhaust shop do it, cost me like $350 or so...did it from the cat-back and put in 2 glasspacks, sounded great....wasn't overly loud, somewhat quiet at idle but you'd get some head turnin when drivin
