Flex Fuel just means you can either run regular gas, or up to a certain percentage of Ethanol/Gasoline mixture. LOL. Yes, you put "bio-diesel" in your flex fuel 4.7 and you will certainly screw a lot up. Not too mention I don't exactly know how you would get the Diesel fuel in you gas tank, nozzle's on diesel pumps are not the same diameter as on gas pumps. I don't think the diesel nozzle would even fit in the hole for your gas tank. LOL.

I don't understand the benefit of this flex fuel crap anyway. Yes, the Ethanol mix is a tad bit cheaper then regular gas, however you also burn more ethanol then gas. Therefore you use more ethanol, requiring more trips to the pump.

I just stick with regular unleaded. Now once I get some of this engine work done, I may run a higher octane if I'm going to the track. Otherwise I just stick with ole' faithful.

The MDS may cut in about 3-5 times tops on the trip to work and that is cruising at 100kph/60mph. Im running premium gas and rarely nail the throttle except to pass. I put $100 in the tank and zeroed the estimated L/100kms and ODO and when the gauge hit roughly the mark I filled it up at the ODO read 500kms and overall my estimated l/100kms was about 12-14 l/100kms( i did reset that every day and watch it). So $100 in premium at $1.10 a litre works out to $4.40 a gallon. I would say Im getting 20 L/100kms or about 10MPG which isnt too good for a MDS truck. Running with no mods yet(just bought it used with 50K) 20" rims, and 3.92 gears. Hemi of course. I have a friend at work that was getting brutal mileage in his 2002 GMC Sierra with a 5.3 and he got his cats replaced and said it was night and day as far as mileage was concerned. I might check on that first then a fresh oil change, otherwise Im thinking of putting on a better flowing air filter and exhaust. Maybe that will help.
wtf cats?

I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500.. I usually get 580 km to a tank. Dunno whether its good or not, but I do alot of highway driving so perhaps that helps. I also dont make the hemi work, I drive reasonably lol.

E85 which is 85% ethanol.
I think the whole idea is crap myself!! All it does is raise the price of corn and everything made from it.
It is very corrosive which is why you must have a special fuel system (flex fuel) that will not be eaten away by the ethanol.
E85 doesn't have near the BTU output of gasoline which is why it takes so much more E85 to go the same distance as it does with gasoline.
They should ban the crap if you ask me.

Elvis56, Try cruising with the cruise control off @ 60mph and see if it stays engauged longer. When I have my MDS turned on, it seems to hunt more with the cruise on than it does with it off. With mine on cruising @ those speeds, mine will get 22+ mpg!!

Thank you! LOL! I know, right? It doesn't make any sense to me.

And yes, he did say "Bio-Diesel", which doesn't matter anyway, you still can't run that either.

I saw a sticker on a Diesel the other day, it said something like "Spark Plugs are for GIRLS!", then I raced him and he felt otherwise afterwards! LOL!
It was a 2nd gen 2500 Ram, it had like a 8 inch lift on it. It wasn't built up or nothing, all show and NO GO! LOL. I always thought if your gonna flaunt your stuff off like that, you'd better have the muscle to back it, or little engine's like mine are gonna make you think otherwise. LOL.

I have a '06 1500 mega cab with a hemi. When I first bought the truck I was getting 12.5-13 MPG avg even on the freeway. Last week I bought a diablo sport since it has a 30 day warranty. The first few day's I tried the 93 octane tune and had an avg of about 15 mpg and much better performance. So yesterday I tried the 87 octane tune and modified a few other things. I now get 18 mpg doing mostly highway with a bit of city driving. With a hemi, city driving will always produce low mpg. But the diablo really did win me over. The truck is completely stock other than the tuner. I can't speak for superchips, but I would assume it would do the same thing. All I can suggest is that if your getting poor MPG give a programmer a chance. With the diablo, you can always return it if it performs poorly. I figured out that mine will pay for itself in about 4 months.
