rim size doesnt matter. a 35" tire is 35" whether its on a 15" rim or a 22" rim

If you still have the stock shocks, do all four. Decent shocks in the front and the stock crap in the back will feel weird.
The best by far are Bilsteins (5100s are made specifically for lifted trucks) or Ranchos (9000s are what I have and are probably second only to the Bilsteins), but they are not cheap. Both are gonna be in the $80 and up range each.

ProComps are decent, and a whole lot better than what you have now. The 3000s are good, the 9000s better. They will only run you about $29 and $39 respecively. When I lifted my Jeep, I got the 3000s and they were buy three get one free at 4 Wheel Parts to boot!

After talking to Nick for a while about this I'm not really sure what I should do...The 35s that are on there, even at 17 rim are still gonna run like at least a grand for tires I think? The guy said they have a little tread left, but not a ton....so I would need to replace them semi-soon. Basically I don't want to go down to 17s and get stuck with small(er) rims and have to put some tires other than 35s on there bc I think it would look weird having small rims AND tires. I dont mind goin down to 17s if the tires are bigger and make up for it, I just don't like there to be a huge gap in the wheel wells I think it looks odd . On top of that I am gonna have to get my tuner asap bc of the rim size change, and Nick said probably think about getting different gears, which would run me even more money because I'm a 4x4.

so rim swap...
Need tuner soon-~$300
Level kit-~$100
Body kit-~$320

That's $720 assuming i don't do gears and then another grand at LEAST if I need to get new tires

What do you guys think? I mean, I want to do this I think it would look good, but I'm trying to examine the pros and cons here. Nick told me that maybe I should leave the 20s, get the leveling kit, and throw some 33s on...That would be like 700 bucks for the tires + 100 for the leveling kit, so 800 with NEW tires, but no tuner and no body kit.

Hammer, as far as I know I still have stock shocks. The guy who owned it before me treated the truck well, but I think all he added was the exhaust and an XM radio. So procomp 9000s I could get all 4 replaced for about 130 bucks and then do I need to go somewhere to get them installed? That's actually really cheap compared to what I was expecting, and I'm a young guy I don't really have a good sense of a "good" ride (regarding the shocks and what not). That could be done very soon

Don't need a tuner for wheel size change, just tire size. If you plan on doing ANY real off-roading, 17s are WAY BETTER than 20s.

BROKEN RECORD ALERT: The more sidewall you have the better flex your tire can do, also the more floatation you have. Also, it will absorb shock much better. I'd have 15" wheels and 35" tires if they'd clear the calipers! 20's look nice and handle street driving better, 17's perform better off-road - WAY BETTER, unless you are talking like 20s with 38" tires.

So, you need to really think about what your priorities are. Nothing in the world wrong with a nice looking, lifted street queen. But if it's off the pavement you are planning, then 17s.

Honestly, in Georgia, we laugh at the 17 year old kids with the nice shiny new Furd 4x4s their mommies got them with 20" and larger wheels and 33" tires who try to go in some of the places we go. There is a reason SRTs have 20s and 33s and it ain't off-roadin'!!!

So, before I can give you any advice, you really need to think about what you intend to do with your truck. Because you might find that 33s on 20s and a tuner will be for you, or you might find that 35s on 17s and gears will suit you better...

I mean, I enjoy off roading and everything, but this truck is also my daily driver around town. On top of that, there aren't really many places around here for me TO offroad. and yeah that's what I was saying. If I swap with this guy I am going to have to get my tuner soon to make sure my speedo isn't messed up. I currently have 20s on the truck.

I want to do this, I'm just trying to figure out if I can afford to do it right now cuz idk how much longer those tires will last and it's gonna be a lot to replace them. Plus the tuner I will need to get, level kit, body kit, and shocks
