Default Finish blacking out my Laramie

I want to finish blacking out my 07 1500 Laramie by replacing all the chrome body parts with black ones. The paint is in the Brilliant Black color which looks beautiful *when clean*. I already found a SLT bumper and Black grille I can buy but it still leaves the chrome moldings on the sides and the big chrome bar on the front bumper. Does anyone know where I could find these last two parts or would it be better getting them painted? I went to my local body shop and they don't do powdercoating and the guy there said they couldn't paint any of the chrome because it would chip and what not and wouldn't last. Which is true if you just paint over the chrome but he also didn't seem that intelligent with what he was talking about. So my question pretty much is should I just get the chrome moldings and chrome piece on the front bumper painted or can I find some black ones online that I could get matched and painted? That also brings up another question though, if I decided to powder coat them instead of trying to buy new ones how well would it last? Would it chip or have sand and debris morphed in it?

-Thanks

holy question pile batman..!

a lot of guys on here have theirs powder coated and i havent heard of too many complaints of chipping IF done right. find someone who does powder coating and see what he says. i do think it would be more prone to chipping because the metal doesnt have any flex like plastic does. so.. there is no give to absorb some of the impact of a rock..
or you could just try to find bumper parts from a sport model like mine... they are color matched

and we NEED pics!

My bad guys, here are some pictures showing what I want to black out.

Here's the chrome piece on the front bumper and grille.

Here are the chrome moldings on the sides

And last, here is the chrome rear bumper

Sorry for the large pictures. I was wondering though, if I get the front bumper, grille and side moldings powder coated, how well would they match the metal shavings in the black paint and how well would they hold up without chipping or having sand and debris get stuck in em?

the only thing you can powder coat is the rear bumper. everything else would have to be painted since its actually plastic. i had my chrome grill painted in a shop in arlington and its holding up great. if your interested pm and ill give you the info. nice truck and check out www.dfwrams.com for more local rams!!

That would be great man, I'm going to buy a rear SLT bumper and a grillcraft black honey comb grill insert which will look sweet. I'm definitely going to check that site out, it would be nice talkin with some local RAM guys.
