Make dang sure you do get a new cooler. Most cases the frags, if any, in the cooler can be back-flushed and they will say 'replaced cooler'. Nothing wrong with getting back the orig CLEANed cooler. Just make sure you are getting what the paper is saying. Either refurbished, new, cleaned.
Roll under that sucker and view the new trans, all bolt holes occupied, no wires flapping free, shifting bar is smooth as before, position indicator is align w/trans position.

This is a strange situation/event, uncommon. These trannies aren't noted to come unstrung as this one.

Well I got my truck back today. I had to have the service manager explain the 3 page bill since it was all warranty codes. I only paid the warranty deductible. They rebuilt the trans, replaced the torgue converter, trans cooler and lines, and pump. All this on a truck that has never been off road, never beat on, and just clocked 19,000 miles. I'm starting to second guess myself buying this, my 1st Dodge truck after 3 Fords that I never had a problem with.

That is strange. Maybe the old truckster just needs to be driven more. The "sludge" may not build up so bad if she's taken out around the block a few times. Don't give up on the Ram just yet.

They were giving you a run around. First they tried to make back their costs hoping you would be stupid enough to give it to them. Then, the regional service guy was covering the dealer's a$$ by saying they were right, but he'd ok the total bill "this time".

A good buddy of mine had a Furd diesel 4x4, was perfectly fine when he parked it. He took a work gig out west for 6 months, flew him out, rental vehicle on the company and paid for his apartment.
When he got back, same problem as you. Thing wouldn't move and Furd said he needed a new transmission, with like 30,000 miles - on a diesel!!!

Don't give up on your Dodge. I've had two now after a nightmare with a brand new Furd F150 and not had a single issue with either of them that wasn't normal rough wear and tear...

Since when do you have to pay a deductable for a factoy warranty? I can see the extended warranty, but with 19k on the truck, it should have still been under the initial factory warranty. (3/36)

Since it's an 04, you need to freshen up your math skills. It is 5+ years old and out of the 3yr/36K bumper to bumper. May have had a 7/70 powertrain, not sure in 04.

Yea it was covered under the 7/70000 warranty. The deductible was $200.00. The 1st year I had it I put 12,000 miles on it. The past 4 years i've only driven it 7000 miles total. I'll be driving it alot more now to make sure everything is working fine. I just got lazy cause I park my Jeep behind it in the drivway and never feel like switching them up.
