Yeah. US settings won't allow that. the ecu must be set to another Country region for the fogs to work with the brights.

I did the same thing. My kit is a Mopar kit came with everything I needed, thought I'd have to take it in and get it programmed but to my surprise they turned right on. And they work with the brights.

After purchasing the OEM kit on eBay, I still decided to stay with the wiring I did myself. The switch that came with my kit called for drilling a hole in my dash. I thought I would be getting the switch that replaces my old one. Anyway, I decided to use my own switch and wiring that keeps it independent and stays on with the brights. But my 08 is also rigged for wiring of fog lights. Wiered how some trucks are and others aren't. If I decided to use factory switch, would all I have to do is plug it in under the dash?

If you had to drill a hole in the dash, then you didn't get an oem kit. You probably got oem lights and some hack wiring and a generic switch.

There could be wiring already there. I have had previous vehicles with wiring there and no fogs. Same with my under hood light that I don't have. Thanks Chrysler for keeping my MSRP sticker down another $30 to not have an underhood light...Jerks...lol
Anyways, i have an underhood light plug just waiting for a light to be installed.

Must have something to do with packages and trim styles that decipher which trucks get pre-wired and such????

As far as the seperate switch. this means your runing seperate power than the factory switch and of course the lights will work.

Thanks for the input. And yes they are ran seperately to the battery.
So if I got an OEM switch rubbecfrog and replaced my switch and just plugged my lights into the existing wires they may work like some models do?
And come to think of it, I have to check if I have that under the Hood light. Man that would be some bull****. Your saying you have the wiring there but no light ?

They should. It seems to be hit or miss as to whether or not the programing is there.
