Default Dodge Extended Warrenty ???

I bought my 07 Ram 1500 back in April. This is my first Dodge product ever. My factory warrenty runs out very soon and I got a quote of $1565 to get a lifetime drivetrain warrenty. What does everyone think? My last truck was a 97 K-1500 which I bought new. The 3 yr. extended warrenty was around $650 which paid for itself about 6 months after the factory 3/36 was over (intake gasket/manifold/etc.). I'm torn because of a) the money and b) I'm not sure of reliablity of Dodge....Thanks for your help.

Well, $1565 is cheaper than and engine or transmission. A good buy if you plan on keeping it for a very long time.
What engine do you have? The Hemi's are usually bulletproof and the 4.7's are pretty good too.

I actually went out on a limb and signed up for the stoprepairbills.com thing. It's cool because it's 100,000 mile warranty from the day I signed up, from the mileage that was on my truck. I paid $90 down and $60 a month for 2 years.

Its got the Hemi. I also pull a sled trailer in the winter and sometime soon my wife wants a new suv thing, so it will pull the horse trailer during the summer. I kept my last truck for 12 years, so chances are I'll have the ram for a while to. My wife's truck is a 99, so we do keep them and drive them for awhile. The lifetime is through Dodge.

I got the 08 and not an 09 due too the fact that the 08 comes with the lifetime powertrain. I will get flamed for this I am sure but I hear that most Dodge trucks have problems and it won't take long for them to appear. everyone says that about every car company though so who knows.

check out this site. https://www.chryslerwarrantys.com/index.cfm seems like you can get a warranty to cover more than just powertrain if you wanted to for about same price. let us know how you make out.

Yeah because the 09 had the lifetime powertrain warranty. the 2010 went to 5yr/100K. You got lied to!!!!
These trucks are not that problematic.
The Hemi Rams have been drive by wire since the get go. Dodge got it right. Toyota Failed!!! Can't even buy a new one right now

Got the liftime powertrain warranty on mine through the dealer! I would say go with it but make sure it's through the dealership or dodge! There's alot of scam warranty things going on right now! Just be careful it's not a scam thing! Piece of mind goes along way!

This is through Dodge/Chrysler. NOT a secondary company. I called the dealer and he said maintenance items (oil change, etc) not an issue as long as I write everything down..Which I do
