Default Smaller under drive pulley??????

I had a guy at extreme performance explain to me that a smaller under drive pulley system would produce more horse power than the OEM one. What are your thoughts about this. I believe it was a little over 200.00 for the parts and installation.

theres better ways to get better gains... smaller underdrive pulley will turn all of your acessories slower... do you really want your alternator, ac, waterpump, etc. to turn slower? i would be willing to bet an e-fan would give you similar gains...

Yes thats a good point. Just when he was explaining it to me he said that being smaller it would in turn make a complete rotation quicker than the original one so it would produce more power. It was the first I have heard about it so I wanted to get some inside information from ya"ll.

It was also suggested to me by Marty at KRC performance. He said I should change it out while the oem one is off anyway for my cam install. He said it'd free up about 15 hp. I mentioned the disadvantages of a smaller pulley, and he said they are very negligable. its only about a 1volt drop. I'm not sure what I'll do, probably just stay OEM cause I dont wanna shell out the money for a new one

Poorer cooling and charging at lower rpm vs a few HP at 6000rpm? Not worth it. I even took the one off of my Mustang because it wasn't worth the hassle.

You'll find there are many mods that you can live without. There are only so many that are worth the money (or even close to worth the money). It sucks that we have to spend thousands to get an additional 200ish hp, but the diesels can get more gains than that with a few hundred bucks...
