Well unless you plan on putting over a thousand ponies in the engine bay I think your good. I mean there is a company that makes a twin turbo kit for the SRT-10's that makes over 890 horse and thats without any upgrades to the frame. Your gonna have to worry about your rear diff and axles before you twist your frame all to hell.
yes lol a diesel is what I'm looking to put in. Basically the largest one that I could possibly fit so I"m actually worried about the torque lol and its a 1500. Do the 2500 or 3500 have a different frame?
2500 and 3500 have a different frame than the 1500 to handle the extra weight and power from the diesel engines. To put it into perspective one guy on here has a cummin's with an estimated 800 horse and 1600 ft/lbs and he has no issues even with a 10" lift.
damn I'm not gonna lie i feel a bit of regret not getting a 2500 than lol either way I'm going to have to upgrade the front suspension and change out the whole rear axle as far as this guy do you know what mods he has on the cummmins to get that much out of it.. for the size of that engine thats crazy!
You'd have to pm him to make sure (mmstar) but I think he has a twin turbo setup and some other bolt on motor mods. He had to get his tranny completely rebuilt as well cuz he ripped it to shreds basically.
