How hard would it be to take out my trans and put in a 5spd? I would love to have complete control over my truck and have the auto isnt allowing me to do this. If possible, what tranny should i use? Can one out of another 4x4 just bolt right in? I know im going to have to cut a hole in the floor for the shifter, just not sure if can be done. please help

 

It would be may more of an electrical nightmare than its worth. What motor do you have? If it is the Hemi they were never offered with a manual trans so electronic, bolt holes and a clutch would be a kunt to do. The 4.7 is possible but then you need to do the clutch pedal and ****. Personally I do not think it is worth it at all and if you did decide to do this be sure to but away lots of bills because they will be needed.

Well the chances of it being possible just rose. But it will cost a **** load of money and you will need a new computer from a manual truck or find a way to reflash the ecu to make it work without an autobox. Still do not know if it is worth the effort.

 

I would recommend trading for a 3/4 ton with a manual trans. However, If you are really serious about doing a conversion. Fill the bed full of money and when it won't hold anymore start buying parts. I put a sm block chevy in my Toyota 4x4 and found that cost about 4 times what I originally estimated. And of course once you start there is no backing out no matter how high the bill gets because your truck is tore to pieces.

 

buy a sc and when the updates come out you will have complete control of your truck

tell me about it, i got my truck 3.5 years ago still got a 1.5 left, would love to trade it in on a ctd or even a 2500 with a hemi, but i love my SCSB but soon it may be time for the extra 2 doors for little humans
