This thread is awesome. Have an 03 5.7L down with broken spring here in K.C. Ordered 6.1 springs and rods from Henson's today, going to replace them all. I need one of those spring removal tools. Have sent to email to guy's address referenced earlier in this thread but so far no reply. Can anyone be of assistance in helping me source the spring compression tool? Thanks

I'd go with Weed's deal, pretty good IMO. The guy I bought my tool and my last reference to him in Post 165 of my thread here has never answered me back per that post. Screw him I say. The tool he sent me was crap, I had to modify it so much to make it work correctly, it cost me several hours on this threads project.

Sad thing is I'm not working with the same company any more so i no longer have access to the machine shops like I used to which means no more valve tools.

All I have is what's in post 173 and after that, that's it. I'm working on trying to find a machine shop locally but having to pay someone to do the machining now will only drive the selling prices up.

Indy...I'm pretty sure it was just localized to the '03 Hemi

Based in the pics in this thread I took measurements to spec out dimensions for the tool and a guy at work welded one up for me. It's a little rough but so far working, 3 springs down - 13 to go.

Show us your work and tool .

and

Weed, Thanks. "correct. 03s and early 04s" , my 2500 5.7 '04 sn in my VIN is 109xxx (mfg 8/03). Almost fell out of my chair reading that and eating my beans&winnies. I've got about 13K on the odo, maybe I should start collecting the necessary parts and tools to make the R&R?
What kind of mileage are they beginning to collapse around?
