5.7L Hemi-Broken Valve Spring - Help
Your definately doing the right thing, by "sleeping on it" FireFighter.
When your tired, you just can't think straight.
The BIG plus is, it sounds like your valves ok. What a result!
That's saved you hundreds of $'s and heartache.
That rope trick is the chiz ain't it?
Now, just take your time and button her back up.
As for paying for shipping the tool from the UK to you .....no offense taken lol.
I think when it's all buttoned up your idea of applying air to see if the valve now seats, is very valid.
Good luck today on installing that spring and BTW, great pic's.
Post up some more as you go.
Take care.

Those stateside guys don't know you and I own this form in the wee hours.. 12 time zone difference here in the Philippines. lol
You guys are too funny. I slept on it and well, IDK. I tried a hose clamp around the fingers which helped but then can't access the top of valve stem to place keepers, etc. I'm just going to head into town and get the other type tool that supercharged uses and try it. One of them has got to work on this spring.
This is a complete PITA x 100. New PITA tool fingers fit top of spring properly, it's the darn metal bucket creating problems with only one way the tools jaws can fit into the spring which causes one jaw to be slightly cockeyed. Multiple attempts, multiple walking away, finally got it to hold spring, got it tightened down as far as it could possibly go, got 1 keeper in place, attempting second keeper, tools slips and lets the spring go....end result in pic below. This is really getting frustrating....about to take a fire axe to it. Thought I'd be doing a victory dance by now.
Threw the tool down the ravine, bounced into the fast rushing mountain stream...hopefully it sank quickly.
