I bought it because I found a good deal, Moe's has them on sale for $310 with free shipping, so its not much more than any other cai, and I had my tax return money so figured what the hell.

I realize that it is not for everyone, it just seems that some products get bashed a lot, but maybe I am just overreacting.
people will hate on anything, I spent close to 400 for my CAI but I like the way it looks. the vararam performs no doubt so if you like or dont mind the looks screw everyone else and buy the bitch

I'm not really sure what to believe these days. Everybody boasted about how much power the superchips flashpaq added to their rams but I have only noticed rough and choppy shifts since installing it on my truck.

not to mention the exhaust dumping out in front of the rear tires like the AAR Cudas
and the design of the bed stripe is from a Dodge Dart GTS I like mixing the old with the new and I think it all works very well together.

by the looks of it, one should be able to use the PVC and reroute it to almost anywhere. Could even modify the hood and turn it into a snorkel unit and then it would be great for off-roaders.

its large and bulky and has a big price tag but like the above post and someone said earlier about the cheap crinkle hose...you could always mod the intake to use pvc and have it go where ever you want or even for better flow...with all the intakes out there and chinese companies making knock off versions for less its a wonder any company can make money off shiz....if you like it and want it buy it...if not well each to there own....and joe...i posted that the s/c gave me more than i thought it would because everyone and i mean everyone is disappointed in what they get with it...all you guys think it gonna make your truck a speed demon and its just a programmer....have you fiddled with it yet adjusted stuff or just used the canned tunes?....

The only things that would stear me away from this intake is cutting up the front of the truck for the "ram air" affect, the cheap plastic crinkled tubing, and the lack of any sort of heat shield. Sure there is probably one on the bottom of the filter where it sits on the engine but the hoses are running right next to the engine picking up residual heat and the "glass" housing is sitting at the highest point under your hood where any bit of hot air will settle (everyone remmbers 8th grade science class, hot air rises cold air sinks) so that would also be heated up. I dont buy ANY manufacturers word on what their product will do, all they want to do is sell you something to turn a profit.

That being said, THE only other CAI I would pick up other than what I have now (which is by no means the best or the worse CAI out there) is a BFI.

Silver, that's interesting. I want to put it back to stock to feel the difference. How come its able to adjust shift firmness if that isn't an option yet?
