chit for 1.87 i might just do that too...i figured gasket atleast 5 bucks or better....as i inspect mine it doesnt look like it has one...thats why i qeustioned it...

well the obvious , I mean a different way too complete a task . the 2500's and 3500's are using gasket and rvt that oughta tell ya something. to me it's bigger bowls (covers) mean bigger messes if not done right don't you think??

Mine is on and you can't see it. Even for $5, I wouldn't think twice about it.

That o-ring looks like the cats' a$$!! My experience with o-rings have not been pretty. For some god forsaaken reason they wind up with a loop at the end of insertion. Or to put it another way more oring than channel left over. Ok try this the fu&&er is too big for the application.!!

Checked online, the Felpro at Advance is now $5.19. Gone up since last I purchased, when I bought before, I bought 3, must have been on sale. still cheap though. Compared to $18.99 per Quart of Mobil 1 synth gear lube!!! geez

youy mare refering to the felpro gasket keeping the mobil 1 in its' place.

2500 and 3500's are not using gaskets AND RTV. Just a gasket (Re-usable one) and torque the cover on. No need for RTV and a gasket.
