Default My Weekend CAI Project

This is what is in store for my weekend Starting tomorrow after i get out of school

I decided instead of spending $300 dollars on a CAI i thought hey why not make my own! So i went to lowes and picked up some 4" pvc pipe with a 3x4 rubber coupler and 2 90 degree Street elbows ($34). Then i went down to Oreilly's and got me 2 Spectre filters (Big and Small) for ($37).

Here is what i got

I will have to make another trip down to lowes to exchange one of the elbows (I Need one that will go over both sides) and get a 4x4 coupler for the filter side.

So with all the products for the CAI added together it will come out to around $78 dollars!!! That will save me $222 for other mods!!

I also removed my throttle body to clean it today and i must say DAMN THAT BITCH WAS DIRTY.......

I will post more progress throughout the weekend.

Blk, that's a smart idea! Is it pretty simple taking off the TB? Just unplug the TPS(I think?) unbolt the screws and voila? I'm betting mines prolly as dirty as yours, if not worse!

Use break cleaner to clean it, the build up basically falls off. Little scrupping with a tooth brush and your good.

Oh and if you don't want a big spot of dead grass, I'd suggest not cleaning the TB over the grass ;D

Thanks for the tips, guys!! I'll be starting today after work. I'm also doing a plug change, so I'm sure she'll pur a little better! I also might buy the edge evolution as well...if the wife says it's okay.
