The 273 is all wrong for a truck. It makes all it's power at high rpm so you need a $$$ motor built to handle high rpm. It loses it all on the bottom so you need a 3600 stall tc, that ruins your vehicle as a daily driver. Put the 273 in a stock block and you just built the slowest truck at the track.

You can usually find a used sidewinder on lxforums, dt or maybe htc in their classifieds. Used they are typically around 250, new is I believe 400 but FRI doesn't even have a functioning website anymore so who knows if you can even get a new one. You can also have one custom ground to the specs of a sidewinder as well. Best bet IMO is to find a used on and save yourself some $.

Check with Stu at inertia motor sports. He can grind you a sidewinder clone for close to the same price as a used one.

I can't publicly say... but when I showed my wife the cost of a used sidewinder and how much stu wanted... she immediately gave me her blessing.
