WOW do I love my Hemi
Don't post much here but read TONS of good info. Have had my pickup for about a year and finally got to pull something. Was really impressed on how the 1/2 ton did. Had planty of power and with the air bags I put in there was no sag at all and didn't bounce when going down the road. Was able to keep my speed at 65 at around 2100 RPMs. Just got to say I'm glad I went with the hemi. Not sure I would have wanted to pull this with the ford, lol.

My pickup really needs a bath. The trailer is pretty heavy duty it's actually my neighbors and he was using the smaller trailer. I'm not sure how much the whole thing ways and not sure if i'm over the limit or not. I have had tons of experience pulling heavy loads with 3/4 ton pickup and the semi,so I know how to load stuff. My dad had the 3/4 ton and didn't think it was practical to use the semi for one skidder. I knew my pickup would handle it just didn't think it would do so good.

I have done a lot of homework on towing skidsteers for the family company and my father has used his F-150 to pull the skidsteers when we rent them due to his capability of towing 10klbs and also because the f-150's have better trans gearing for pulling very heavy loads around town.
Just because your Ram did handle it good, doesn;t mean your not putting too much pressure on your drivetrain. Heat is killer when towing very heavy loads like that for both your tranny and rear diff. I wouldn't be towing that on a regular basis for 2 reasons. Safety concerns and mechanical concerns.
Def loaded correctly granted you have chain tie downs and also...looks darn good hooked to your rig!

My Dodge replaced my '90 Chevy 1500 Silverado. It had a 350 tbi, and 239k miles. I always thought it had a lot of power, but when I got in and stepped on the Hemi pedal, I just couldn't believe the torque! Even with the added weight of the 4wd, and spinning those big tires, it still doesnt know when I pulling the boat.
This isnt my first Hemi...can anybody say 800hp blown Chrysler Fire-Power Hemi?
And no...I dont have that boat anymore, but metal flake was cool deal in the early '70s.
