Code P063A 07 Ram... HELP!
Hey y'all,
I'm in need of some desperate help. I've searched the forums and found what my code is. But WTF do I do to get it fixed???? It's P063A-GENERATOR VOLTAGE SENSE CIRCUIT. I'm having a hard time trying to figure what this code means and how to fix it. A little help will be much appreciated. The darn Check Gages light coming on randomly is getting annoying......

its a different diagnostic that i would have to do at the dealer with approved scan tools. as of right now i dont know a way as to go about diagnosing.
you will have to disconnect your pcm and measure certain terminals resistance and later on use a test light with an actuation.
And if worse comes to worse PCM will need to be replaced.
(I would have it diagnosed first)

well it could be a number of things
it could have excessive resistance in the alternator circuit
your alternator circuit could be shorted to ground
could be your alternator pre wear and tear
or lastly your pcm
my first step would be to check your static and dynamic voltage of your battery.

The regulator that's attached to the back of my alternator is going bad. It's shorting out. It's failing to control and maintain a charging status when all vehicle electronics are ultizing the system. Flagging the Check Gauge light. I didnt realize it, but every time this light has come on, I have been utilizing the entire system. Dropping the available charge from 14.4 volts to 12.3 volts with everything running on the alternator and battery. From what I've been told even with it running it needs to maintain at the very least 13V. So I can see why it keeps flagging the code. All connections are good, I cleaned the connections including the PCM connections. Tested battery voltages.
Battery with engine not running with key in on position: 12.89 volts
Battery with vehicle engine running but nothing turned on: 14.4 volts
Battery with everything turned on and engine running: 12.3-12.6 volts
Voltage coming from regulator to PCM with engine running but nothing else on 12.9-13.1 volts
I'm gonna go with resetting the PCM, if the codes come up again, I'm going to replace the alternator and pray like hell that is the case.
Thank You brettj2408 for helping me!
