my o2 dodge doesnt have front tow hooks and im wanting to put some on. i like the heavy duty loop style like in the 3/4 tons but the only ones i can find for a half ton is a gay lookin bar with two little hooks on it. y wont the 3/4 ton style bolt on a 1/2 ton or will it. any ideas?

Because the frames are different. Your stuck with the happy looking bars unfortunately unless you can make your own?

Then how would you mount the 2500 bumper bracket to the 1500 frame? the bumper brackets are different because the frames are different.

the brackets are the only thing that are different they bolt to the frame the same way the 1/2 ton has three holes in front to mount the tow hook bar the 3/4 ton bracket has four holes for mounting the tow hooks thats the only difference

Why not just make a front hitch and throw a shackle in it?

or even buy a front receiver hitch if you don't have the resources or skill to make one. Can be purchased for not much more than the Mopar tow hooks and is a hell of a lot more versatile...

So, this guy asks questions.....then argues about the answers? Huh?

You could possibly make it work, but you will need to modify things and will need some welding/cutting/manufacturing skills more than likely.

Nothin Gay about my Tow Hook set-up, it's got Stainless fasteners and Diamond Plate backing, but if you don't like the look OP you are entitled to your opinion. I'm likin the receiver Idea as a winch could be really handy up front if needed (in the Bush or no trees used with steel).

IMO HD is for HD Trucks as they got full diff up front to take the stress of a big pull if using the truck itself. I like Tow Hooks up front as a place to hook up if I need a pull.

My truck has always had a winch permanently mounted, but on my Jeep GC, because it's my daily driver, I installed a front receiver hitch ($189 shipped). I now have the versatility of carrying the winch (complete with a pair of 130 watt lights), a custom light bar I made or a shackle attached to an old, straight Reese receiver I had laying around.

Nice thing about this setup is ANY and all of the above can be inserted in the rear hitch of the Jeep or even my truck if need be...
