Default what did this connect to?

My last thred got moved to general for some reason so Ill make a new one for this even though its related....

some of you may have seen I hit a deer. I went to the store today and my engine lite was on. I popped my hood and found this in the damaged ariea. Anyone know what it is and where it should be?






and what the hell is the white goop on it?

Hmmm.... Don't know for certain. Fog lights? Do they still work? Turn signal? Does it look like it was tied off somewhere and is now floating (loose)?

yea its just hanging there and has clearly broke off of somthing. all my lights work fine. When my cusin gets home im going to have him check the engine codes mabey that will give a hint...


here is a pic I found befor the deer. Can anyone with the same model ram check under there hood?

Im pretty sure that is your temp. sensor for your overhead console. Thats where its located on my truck anyway. Does your overhead temp still give out a normal reading?

Yep, temp sensor located to the right of the grill near the headlight. Look at the left bottom of the black piece by the driver side headlight assembly. You can kinda see it there.

thanks guys your right it was the temp sensor for the overhead and that was making my engine lite come on. my cusin used his scan tool and verified.

Thanks for the info, Ixman1. I had no idea what it was either. I have one (I think) under my hood also, though I have no temperature readout inside the cab.

BTW, I really like the silver radiators and stuff. Looks good.

While were talking about things under the hood..Do all Hemi engines have a plug-in? I know diesels have them but so does my truck and its located next to that temp. sensor.
