Default power window problem

2004 QC, 1500 SLT, 5.7, 4x4 with power windows. The problem is this. I can operate all 4 windows both up and down from the drivers seat. The windows will not function from any other spot. Before you ask, yes I checked the window lock button, several times both ways. Any Ideas or solutions?

Common issue. The driver's door switch module interrupts the signal to the other switches. Many folks have had reasonable luck by removing the door switch and cleaning the contacts.

i just finished taking the switch apart on my truck its pretty simple to do. the only hard part is getting the window switches off. i knew i should of took pics of what i did to mine cause lots of dodges with that window lock have that problem. all i did was take the window lock apart and bent the contacts in and stretched the spring out i bit so it pushes up hard enough to make the switch reach the contacts. i can take it apart tomorrow and do pics of it if you need.

Haha. Man I was having this same issue. I thought my new 03 I bought was flawless and I was letting the in laws check it out when they went to unroll the windows and it didn't work. I told them the lock was off and to go ahead. Still didn't roll down. But I'm glad to hear it is a simple fix. Now I just need to figure out how to put a soft buffer in between where the plastic controls make contact with the panel. There is a slight vibration and it makes an annoying noise with the radio on because it vibrates.

How do you get the switches off ? I tried to take my switch apart yesterday but stopped because I was afraid it would self destruct if I pried any harder.

Pics would be cool.

If you take the door skin off you can push the switch panel out from the bottom easier.

for some reason my switch panel already comes off real easy on driver side. anyway, would we need to pinch the metal pieces on all four doors? if this is the case, i would have to remove the entire back door panels since the switch is in the middle?! man...

I did the same thing with my wife on my 04 that I just bought a week ago. I am gonna have to try and take the switches out and clean the contacts if I am reading the posts right. I would rather do this than take it to the dealership and pay 50% of the cost to fix it. LOL.... I'm guessing the easiest way to get the switches out is to take the door panel off and cleaning them with alcohol?
