I would just find the wires in the buckle itself and tie them together. Instant and permanent solution to your problem. No opinion, no story, and no BS. Just an answer.

go to a salvage yard and get the male end of a seatbelt and just clink it in place... presto no light or sound

plugging in part of a seatbelt does work, but then you need to fumble around trying to find another piece every time to put in the socket. What wires need to be connected to kill off the bell?

to shut the chime off is in the owners manual it is something like put key in on position and click seatbelt in and out 3 times and you will hear a chime indicating that it has been disengaged but as far as the light...i have no idea...

(I don't condone not using seat belts - but even more so, I don't condone Big Brother telling me what I should and shouldn't do.)

This is what I did with mine a long time ago. I usde a scotch lok and jumped the two wires and never looked back. Here in GA we just recently got a law passed about having to wear one.

maybe you could pull the instrument cluster, and put some elect tape over the red lens.
I agree, everyone should wear a seat-belt. I belive government should stay outta it. Mandatory irritating alarms in every vehicle. Feds shound make a vehicle safe, not a pain in my ....

Hey, at least the DR reminder will shut up after a while. The one in the wifes Mini Cooper will never stop until you put the belt on.

click it in and put it behind you, or run the belt under the seat and click it in

The simplest solution I can think of is this.

Step 1. Grasp seatbelt.

Step 2. Pull across torso and click in to buckle.

And BAM! Just like magic, the light is off.
