If you have HID high and low (bixenon) then you need four resistors

If you have HID low and halogen high (xenon) then you two resistors

Hope this helps
Do you think along with the 9007 xenon hid harness for (low-hid, high-halogen) Relay, this would work for the lamp indicator and the flickering?

http://www.hidsupport.com/warranty/cap.html

My company I order from says they believe this will work without a problem.

What do you think?

Thanks in advance again,

Nick

For HIDs in 02-05 trucks, you need the harness and load resistors (see post 168 on why you need them). Resistors will mimic halogen bulbs and trick the PCM and keep the Lamp Out light off. Stay away from caps.

Okay sounds good then.

I was going to go ahead and purchase this from this seller:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge...Q5fAccessories

I emailed and double checked that this is what I needed for the low-hid and high-halogen hid kit and told the seller I believe I only need the relay with the 2 resistors and he responded with this:

"If you believe you need 2 resistors, by all means purchase one with 2 resistors. We have sent harnesses with 4 resistors for dodge rams for all hid/halogen beam kits for 02+ Rams and have had no issues. We have tried sending harnesses with only 2 resistors in the past and have found it to not work BECAUSE HIGH BEAM CIRCUIT ALSO NEEDS 50W RESISTANCE."

Any input on this weedahoe?

it depends on how the harness is made. This is one of the reason I do not encourage guys to get xenon setups but to go ahead and get the bixenons.

In the 9007 socket there are 3 pins/wires. You have the high, low and ground. If the xenon harness you are getting only has 2 pins ( low and ground) then you will need not only the normal two resistors for the low beams on the HID harness but you will need two more to mimic the missing highs in that 9007 socket and because they are missing you will need to put those resistors on the OEM headlight wiring

Make sense?

Some kits that are just HID low beam come with a halogen bulb attached for a high beam. In that case I don't believe you would then need the load resistors for the high beam wires.

At least that's how my Kit is so I figured just use resistors for the low beam. But at the same time I have seen the kits come with just the low HID and then you lose functionality of the high beam system which then you would need resistors for both high and low circuits?

When you get just the plug and play kit without the relay, i know the 9007 come with a blue plug that gets plugged into original socket and then usually has a yellow wire that comes off each hi/low bulb that gets connected to yellow wire that comes out of ballast harness?

make sense to you, weedhoe?

^^^ All electronics have some sort of capacitors in them.

As for yours questions, please read the thread as it pertains to your issues.

Ok guys heres my first problem with my HID's i've run into. My trucks an 05' and i purchased my kit from HID Extra. Been good up until here lately. I have my fogs wired up via a diagram Hammer put out here for us so they come on when i turn the switch to park lights instead of having to pull the switch out like usual. My problem is when i turn the switch on, the fogs come on and sometimes the passenger side headlight will come on but a lamp out light on the dash is visual. Sometimes neither of the headlights will come on. If i flick my high beams on, which are halogen by the way, and the hi's come on, I can flick the high beam switch again to go back to my lows and, presto, my HID's come on and the lamp out goes off. Sometimes when the lamp out comes on I can turn the truck off, the headlights off, start the truck back up and turn the lights on and they'll work. I'm wonder if something isn't damp maybe. I do have both Headlight HID ballists mounted on the under side of the support that runs under the radiator i believe it is. Sorry my no pic's either by the way.
I'll check back later, i'm gonna go see what i can found out. Thanks
