Disconnect each ballast and connect each one at a time directly to the battery. Use jumper cables. If they come on and stay on with no issues, the ballast/bulbs are not the issue. If they still flicker or give issues then replace them
I am lost alot when it comes to stuff like this. i am gonna start my ebay search again and call around to some custom shops to see what they have. Thanks for any help i have received so far and any i might get
When I unlock my truck doors by remote the headlights give off a quick flash of light. I have only had my HID's in my truck for a few weeks. I have had no trouble with them up till now. Last night I went to turn them on and I lost either a ballast or a bulb .. Do you guys think that that quick flash of light could be hard on ballast and bulbs?

Ballasts have capacitors in them and discharge when you unlock via remote, thus the quick and one time flash. It will not hurt anything
i am starting to read up on LED's and wondering your take on them? You seem to know your stuff and i am trying to figure out something that isnt gonna continue to be a pain in my butt yet be efficient lighting at the same time
I do a lot of work with LEDs. I do a lot of custom builds and use LEDs. But if you are asking about LEDs for headlights, where there are off road setups available, LED headlight bulbs are not very good. I tried one in my bike but took it out and replaced it with a retrofitted HID projector/ballast/bulb
Nothing beats HIDs for on road usage. Now if you want country roads or off road usage, let me know as I sell LED light bars.
